Description

In the next installment of the New York Times bestselling Throne of Glass series, follow Chaol on his sweeping journey to a distant empire.

Chaol Westfall has always defined himself by his unwavering loyalty, his strength, and his position as the Captain of the Guard. But all of that has changed since the glass castle shattered, since his men were slaughtered, since the King of Adarlan spared him from a killing blow, but left his body broken.

His only shot at recovery lies with the legendary healers of the Torre Cesme in Antica--the stronghold of the southern continent's mighty empire. And with war looming over Dorian and Aelin back home, their survival might lie with Chaol and Nesryn convincing its rulers to ally with them.

But what they discover in Antica will change them both--and be more vital to saving Erilea than they could have imagined.

Absolutely one of my favorite books in the series. I would go as far as saying this is the authors best work in this series.

Maas does it again with a nail biting tale featuring Chaol & Neseryn in Antica. The story was exciting and an edge of your seat thrill ride from beginning to the very end. The characters are interesting and have depth. The story can be read as a standalone book but is definitely enjoyed more if read in the order of the series. Not a book for anyone under 16 due to intimte scenes.

This book was good and not good for me. But let me explain. It was obviously very necessary. I 100% understand why this book was written. I just don’t like Chaol because he can be problematic. But he’s necessary to the story. You can’t like everyone. I love the other characters! It was nice to see how they found out about what Aelin was doing. Honestly, the book was wonderful and had GREAT plot twists which is why I like the series in the first place, but I had to get past my dislike of Chaol. Excited for the last book and sad to see it end!

Honestly, I didn’t want to read this book. I have never liked Chaol...I was wrong. I thought I would just wait around until the next book about Aelin came out, I felt I could skip this one. Don’t. It actually gave me a glimmer of hope, for the world inhabited by these characters, which I think was the point of it all along. Very sneaky Sarah.

Go of this book killed me. It was a little slow at first. I really really really enjoyed Yrene. I loved seeing her again. To think we thought she was a little side character. Holy cow she is such a large part now! In my mind, Chaol has kinda redeemed himself. Not a hundred percent. But I can tolerate him now! My favorite part was with Nesyrn and Sartaq❤️ Prepare your heart for the last part in the book. Good lord i cried the entire time.

This book definitely took me by surprise. I was leery of having to read an entire story of my least favorite character in this series (Chaol), but it was so good! Within his story I grew to love Chaol, he’s no longer the bitter, snappy little boy that he was in the previous novel. The story line is super interesting! If you are a fan of this series, don’t let the thought of reading about Chaol stop you lol it’s definitely worth the read! I promise!!

Its been years since id stay up all night devouring a book, id lost my passion for it and was afraid after many failing attempts to recover it that books no longer held the magic i loved so much. This series. This series has given it back to me 😍 ive found my reader's muse again

I was a little iffy about this book because it was centered around Chaol’s perspective and not Aelins but I finally began to read... and loved every minute of it. It was strange at first to also see from Nesryn’s view but I slowly became accustom to it. If you love this series, this is a must read. Can’t go on in the series without it!
